Toby

well, a about a year had passed since my good boy Casper had been lovingly put to sleep and our hearts & home seemed empty with just the two of us (my wife & i);

so, we started searching for a mini schnauzer to rescue. after a few false starts, Toby showed up on a rescue site;

his story was that his original owners had to move & couldn't take him or his buddy (i'd live in my car before i'd abandon my dog)and the two wound up in a kill shelter;

his buddy was immediately adopted, but not Toby. he languished in the shelter until.....a killing virus hit it; the shelter people knew it would kill Toby and, to their credit, called a schnauzer rescue person and got him out;

he stayed with his foster mom for about two years before she had to place him due to a change in circumstances;

we saw him & took him on sight...he was 8 1/2 years old and now as he approaches 9 he is happy & loved in his forever home;

on Friday January 24th @ 10:45 PM EST Toby passed quietly with the people who loved him best by his side;

"we will go a roaming no more"

What a wonderful story with a happy ending. Toby sounds like a wonderful pup. So glad you found him and he made it out the shelter alive! God bless

toby is a good puppers too;

from the flinching he exhibits when you pet him unexpectingly,we believe he was abused by his original owners ,or someone before he got to the marvelous person who saved him;

as my good boy casper would have said,if only he could speak to us,do for another what you did for me;
