stop jumping on people

Lacy is a white miniature Schnauzer. She is loving and house trained. However the one thing I can't get her to stop is jumping on everyone. I have tried several things such as turning my back on her, when she is jumping and rewarding her. Please help I am Senior citizen and I don't have the energy to keep her from jumping. I don't want to give her away. I rescued her.

Use a Leash

I gave up on my little Evie. She is so dang excited to see us whether we are gone 5 minutes or 5 hours. I enjoy her excited greeting. I realize not everyone shares my feelings. I tried at first. Like you, I turned my back. She is so dang excited she just ran around me til she was facing me again. Made me dizzy (LOL). Now if I have guests, I put a leash on her and tell her sit. If I must I put her in her pet stroller so she isn’t under foot. You might also use the leash to train her not to jump on you. Simply step on the leash so she doesn’t have the slack to jump. Once she gives up and calms down reward her. Just leave a short leash on her at all times. I give Evie a sharp NO, then stands on the leash. Once she is calm I reward her. It will take time and great patience. Like I said for me I love that she is so glad to see me. My girl only weighs 11 pounds, if she weighed 20-25 is have probably been more diligent with this training.
