Although we celebrate with joy this day
There are those whose heart is still far away
My tears have flowed not yet to end
The loss six months this day, of my best friend
Nickies life so precious I did so love
All things we did we're sent from above
The trials you faced were heavy and deep
Many nights and days spent without sleep
From receiving that bad shot we know
Left your health at risk and much pain to show
Your endurance and strength pushed on saying no
You would not give up even as your sight did go
We spoke often of the things we have
Thanking God each day for life to share
Even through all the pain you would always care
I remember that day as though it were here
Off I went and made it quite clear
If God would call as you lay there in rest
It was alright to go and receive heavens rest
Returning that night I found you there
Called home and at rest in His loving care
Love you
