Pip means "horseman" in the Celtic language and was named so, because we are carriage drivers and Pip will be our next carriage dog. He will ride with us in our Spider Phaeton in shows and compete against other dogs, horses and drivers for ribbons.
Schnauzers were often used to guard the carriages in Europe when the carriage was parked and the driver stepped away from it. The schnauzer would guard the passengers and carriage from robbers and thugs. So Pip will be a carriage dog and carry on the tradition started hundreds of years ago.
Pip is our 7th miniature schnauzer, and is turning out to be one of the best ones we have had. He is 13 weeks old now.
