My Precious Pepper

I did not see Tuesday, June 27th ending with having to make the decision to put my dog down, over the years after having 3 surgeries and diabetes, I just knew she would fight this sickness but it was too much for her, she was really sick this time, her stomach was twisted and there were signs of cancer. For 9 1/2 years Pepper was my pet, my best friend and my companion. She was the sweetest dog I could have ever ask for, she made me want to be a sweet person! She taught me so much I love her so much for that. I am really going to miss her and I know in this life time I will never find another dog like her. She will always be remembered and she will always be "My Pepper".

Time takes time

I happened upon your Pepper story and I thank you for sharing your experience. This sounds so familiar because last Autumn I had to make the same decision with my dear Scarlett. She was with me eleven years and she too developed diabetes a little more than a year prior. She would do well for a few weeks or months and then she would begin to become symptomatic indicating that her blood sugar was out of control. I had a glucose monitor here at home. We incrementally increased her insulin doses and the cycle would start all over again. I was about to lie down with her for our after lunch nap when suddenly she suffered a massive seizure.

I did get another puppy (miniature Schnauzer) and yes I love her but there's just no replacing one who has passed. It's been nearly a year now and it has become easier but I think of her everyday and I miss her terribly.

Like no other

You probably are not going to find another one like your Pepper, but I hope when you're ready that you open your heart and your home to another one. No, it won't be like your Pepper, but it will be special in its own way, making its own place in your heart, and some day you will say the same thing about him or her. I've found that when I rescue a Miniature Schnauzer, they are really rescuing me. I have my 5th one now, and my 4th one was so special that I didn't think I was capable of loving another one like I loved Breyer, but you know what? Katie has made her way into my heart in her way and I love her just as much. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your sweet Pepper. I pray for healing for your broken heart.

I too had a sweet mini girl named Pepper. I wanted to write to let you know how sorry I am for the loss of your sweet girl. Our two girls are with my good boy Joey now, healthy, happy and whole. Take care.

Oh my what a beauty !! The only thing I can say is I know how you feel. These wonderful Schnauzers friends fill our hearts and when they have to go it feels empty for awhile. Sounds like you were an awesome fur parent to your pup
