Junebug was a puppy mill mama handed over to our local no kill shelter. After a home visit, we were able to adopt her. She had so many health problems, a mouth full of rotten teeth, pancreatitis, kennel cough, skin issues, diabetes, all health issues we addressed as soon as they became apparent. We spent thousands of dollars on her, and in the end, she became a beautiful, gentle, loving soul and the owner of my heart. She never kissed me. She didn't know how to play. The first six months I had her, she would become rigid when I petted her, she would occasionally wag her tail just a little bit, but in the end she was devoted to me. She would never let me out of her sight, she would not rest until I finally sat down, then she would curl up close to me. The first time she made the first move to be loved on, I felt like I owned the world.. in the end, she was my world. I had her 2 1/2 years. I lost her yesterday to cancer. It hurts so bad I can't breathe. I just want to hold her in my arms again. My pain is immense, but I know she is no longer in pain and that is my comfort. Will there ever in this world be another Junebug? I think not. All my love, sweet girl.
