MY FURRY SON- THE CARROT EATER

My furry son Neno Black is 11 years old. I bought him from an in home local breeder and he is AKC registered. He started having these bouts of vomiting. I had him in the vet every year for these episodes until just after his 7th birthday. At that appointment he was vomiting so badly I thought I was going to lose him. The amazing emergency vet I took him to tested him for a miniature schnauzer prone disease of pancreatitis. He was positive.

I had to change his food to low crude fat and no dog treats. His food is now a diet food with a crude fat percentage of 7%. In comparison Iams is 19% crude fat. He has been getting baby peeled carrots for treats ever since.

I am sharing because now 4 years later he hasn't had one bout of throwing up. If only I would have known when I got him to watch the fat content I could've prevented my little guy from all those stomach issues. Hence the reason I'm sharing my story here.

I am forever hooked on this breed and will never own any other breed. He is still as spunky as ever at 11. Good luck to all you Schnauzer lovers and watch the fat in your furry child's diet.
