Gracie and Her Baby ( Baby Goat that is! )

This is Gracilynn, my 3 year old mini schnauzer. She is a bundle of love and affection to everyone in my family - including my Pygmy Goats!! In this photo you can see Gracie dutifully watching over a new born kid. The poor kid's mother wouldn't let her nurse so I had to bring her in and bottle feed her.

Gracie would follow her around the house and alert me if the little one got into trouble! Anytime the baby decided to take a nap, Gracie was there and would lay down beside her. When the baby wanted to chase Gracie and play, she obliged. When the baby needed it's diaper changed ( Yes the goat wore diapers!! ) Gracie was standing by just to make sure I did it right.

I still think that if Gracie could have nursed that goat herself she would have!! There isn't any dog on earth sweeter than a Miniature Schnauzer! And there's no sweeter love than and dog and her goat baby!
