Miniature Schnauzer Fifi

My FiFi:
My family had a Yorkie (Pokey) for 15 years. It was my sons dog. After a long hard decision we had to let the Yorkie(Pokey) go on to his doggie heaven. It tore our family's heart apart. I being the Father, was determined NOT to have another dog. My heart hurt to much. My son went away to college and my wife was always telling me, she would love to have another dog to fill the empty house. For almost three years I said no. This was so important to my wife, so I started researching for another dog. I wanted another type of dog, because on the headstone for Pokey (our Yorkie), it says, there can be only one! I knew this dog would have to be different. I stumbled upon this page about Schnauzer's. Wow, this dog was perfect for what my wife was needing I thought. So still being against the ideal of a new dog, I told my wife that if we found a full blooded Schnauzer puppy needing a good home, we would get one. It was months after saying this, we ran into a man wanting to sale Schnauzer pups. Still trying to not give in to the new dog ideal, I had a plan that I thought would work. I told her how much I would pay for the puppy and told her that if she could get it for that price, we would get it. Knowing that the price I had gave her a very low offer I knew it would not buy the pup, She still asked the man. He told her no he could not take the offer. We stayed and played with this little puppy for over an hour. I told my wife it was time for us to go. She looked so sad, I had already made up my mind, I was going to get her the puppy. so I was ready to open my mouth and this man spoke up and said Honey, I can't stand the look on your face, give me your money before I change my mind. So off we went with a pup that has changed our lives.

Fifi,now going on four years old, Wow, what a dog, She is the sweetest dog I have ever seen, We were able to potty train her in only two weeks. I come home from work, she stands on top the couch waiting for my to come and pet her. If I pass her and do not pet her, she starts to bark and chases me until I do. When we are tired, she will try to get us to play, then after she realizes we are not playing, she will lay her head in our lap and take a long needed nap. as we retire to bed, it is alike a race, She till look at us and as we walk toward the bed room, She will run and get in her spot on the bed and wait till we lay down, then she gets up and lays on each of our chest with her face just below our chin, till we pet her, then she will go and lay at the foot of the bed and sleep. As you see in the picture, She loves to ride in the corvette, every time we go near the car. She wants to go for a ride. I think this dog is just what we needed, we could not be any happier with our choice.
