My boy is eight months old and, we have attempted two training classes, the first one he was too young for, the second one was age appropriate but within a half hour at the first off leash puppy play my boy tried to start a fight with ten puppies.

He has a boxer brother at home and a Chessie neighbor and has never show any signs of aggression.

This weekend a little mini schnauzer came to visit and my dog immediately tried to pin him, he pinned him about 50 times in a few hours span. I use a gentle leader and it does help.

What makes him want to do this?

It was puppy play time and the trainer did intervene. She just kept saying that's a schnauzer. I was so surprised by the behavior and her saying that. Is this a typical trait for schnauzers, Ive not read anything like that before. He is the sweetest lovable baby until he sees another puppy.

Did the trainer give any type of instruction for this behavior? If not, you need a new trainer or maybe a behavior specialist. Schnauzers are very smart and usually easy to train. When he was off leash was this a puppy playtime? The instructor should have intervened immediately.
