by Anna Elliot
(Benkelman, Nebraska USA)
Gus was diagnosed with lymphoma on August 19, 2009 but I had felt the lumps mid July. My vets told me he would live 1 to 2 months without chemo. I elected not to torture him further with treatment after long soul searching to do what was in the best interest of my boy. I had him for over 8 months of good quality of life, him only being ill a few days in that time period. He was no show dog, nor obedience, nor agility, but he was #1 in our heart. I had lost my husband 2 years ago and I feel he was missing his little pal too much, so on March 31, 2010, Gus went to be with his best buddy and daddy. This little guy touched my soul and will forever live in my heart. We miss him very much.
