A Home for Sadie

We are a schnauzer family and had just had to put down 3 dogs, 2 being miniature schnauzers. We still had two schnauzers left, but our house was so quiet. Two weeks after losing the last one due to kidney failure, I was looking on Petfinders...."just looking" when I came across a picture of Sadie, who's name was Dorothy. She was a rag muffin! She had been rescued from a puppy mill by a wonderful organization in OK. I inquired about her, and she was still available so we decided to go see her "just to look". Well, as soon as we went into the pen where she was, she stood up and gave us a kiss. That is all it took! Our hearts melted!

She is a salt and pepper schnauzer, now 8 years old. When I carried her to the car, my son was in the back and his comment was "why are you getting her? She doesn't even look like a schnauzer!" I put her in the car and she went right over to him and gave him a kiss and just like us, she melted his heart! We brought her home and named her Sadie. With being in a puppy mill, she was covered in fleas and ticks when rescued and due to the ticks, had heart worms when rescued. But she is doing wonderful 2 years later.

She is a sweetheart, gets along WONDERFUL with the other dogs and cats, and doesn't know a stranger. She loves to "talk" to you and gets pretty bossy at feeding time. She loves to go for car rides, which we take all 4 dogs every weekend for their weekly ride. :)

Everyone has their own special dog breed, but mine personally is and always will be schnauzers! No better dog in my opinion. They are my babies....my girls. I can't imagine life without them.
